According to The Star-Ledger, a township orphanage will benefit from those who eat Thanksgiving dinner at the Alexis Diner in Denville. For the sixth consecutive year, the diner will donate 100% of its Thanksgiving proceeds to the St. Peter’s Orphanage.
The orphanage, which serves 14 boys between the ages of 13 and 17, is funded by the state and private donors. It depends on donations for physical improvements to its facilities, said executive director Kelly McNamara.
McNamara also noted that trees are down all over the orphanage property due to the October snowstorm. Dealing with these conditions may be the priority among needed capital improvements. The Thanksgiving dinner is a major piece of the annual fundraising drive for the orphanage, chaired by Morris County Sheriff Edward Rochford.
