What are these codes popping up everywhere from billboards
to food packages? QR stands for quick response. These codes are similar to the
barcodes that are on product packaging at your local retailer. QR codes are
able to hold more data than regular bar codes.

QR codes have actually been around for quite a while. They
were first invented by a branch of Toyota in Japan to track cars in the
manufacturing process

How does one use a QR
Code?

You can only use a QR code if you have a smartphone. It does
not matter if it is a Droid or IPhone.

1.
Download a QR code reader application

For IPhone you can try for Free: QR Reader
for iPhone, ShopSavvy, RedLaser Barcode

For Droid: Zxing, QR Droid, Scan

2.
The app will use your phone’s camera to take a
picture of the code. It will ‘read’ the code and take you to a picture or a
website.
